The gondola is the most well known boat in the world: even people who have never been to Venice can immediately recognize it's unique shape, the metal bow decoration or fero and the distinctive Venetian rowing style “voga alla veneziana”. However, the last gondola yards are in danger of disappearing. The number of skilled experts making fine Venetian gondolas are very few nowadays.
